I LOVE YOU, CRAZY CAT LADY!!

So, I'm taking breaks between chewy bites (yes, it's the Chew-a-Thon, you know!) I haven't read through your posts that much, and I think I will have to pay closer attention because you make me giggle! Seriously, you are so funny!

I try to keep my intense cat love silent as well. (I have 3). I hope George and Pepper are good friends by now!

And I think I will indulge in this recipe this holiday season! yum!!

I am way late in reading this, (as in, it's March of '09) but wanted to comment nonetheless on how freakin fabulous your book and your blogs are. I have the most amazing cat, named Aiko, (after the song, Aiko, Aiko) who I flew to the Virgin Islands with me, along with two suitcases, in my quest to start a new life in a paradoxical paradise. Aiko is a rescue cat from an Amish Cattery (I didn't know such things existed prior to meeting this perfect creature) and has lived a life of horrific captivity - stuck in a 2 by 2 cage all of his life, let out only to mate, producing pet store kittens, broken tail, jaw... YET, is the most loving, affectionate, intelligent and amazing creature I have ever known. He is smarter than all dogs I've known, and wraps his fluffy cat arms around my neck and sleeps with his head on my pillow each night. When he purrs, I can literally feel my blood pressure drop, and myself relax. Cheers to fellow feline lovers! My life is so much richer because of this amazing creature. :)

Speak of the devil! I literally just adopted a second cat (kitten) _today_! She is 3 months old, and will be spayed next week. I will pick her up on Friday. But I will try and go to the shelter to play w/ her on Sat. if I've got time.
I had a 16-yr-old cat last fall, who passed away from cancer. But before she got sick, I'd brought a second cat (kitten) into the apt. The 16-yr-old was NOT happy. But she'd been an only cat for almost 8-9 years. It makes sense. My current "only cat" is almost 2, and so I'm hoping that w/ her still young age, and the fact that she LOVES to play and is mopey when I'm gone (I come home to find her toys strewn about, and my clean socks having been carried and dispersed around the home), she and the new little one will (after some understandable adjustment time) be fast friends. Knock on wood it can't be as difficult as my last kitty "introduction". That was not fun.
And you're right, it's very stressful!
